If you could get permission to remake a game, what would it be?

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Its not so fun as-is anymore because its simply too easy; the bots are not smart.

If it was as hard Turok 2, it'd be perfection.
Saga frontier, it was this really weird rpg for psx

the fun thing about it was that it had 7 different stories that happened in the same world

so it had the generic "save the world" jrpg plot, but also some really bizarre ones like a Kamen Raider/tokusatsu knockoff(its morphin' time!)
or one where you could end as a evil vampire queen that collected mistresses(i'm not kidding, i still wonder how that got translated)

it also got some of the most amazing music i ever heard in a game, unfortunately much of the game was excluded from the release since the top guns at Squaresoft wanted to save some penny by making the game a single cd. and the game was plagued with problems of all kinds becouse of that

a remake of it that had all the disc space it needed would beamazing

I would really like a modern version of Guerrilla War that kept the top-down view, emphasized more cooperative play (I'm thinking even to the degree of games like The Adventures of Cookies & Cream), and a greater variety of vehicles to commandeer.

X-Com

Ive got a good and a bad news for you...

Good: Theyre (2K) making a new xcom game!
Bad: They feel the need to re-invent and re-imagine it... as a FPS.

If I got the chance to remake x-com I'd prefer it as a low budget indie production rather than a AAA setup. The original x-com doesn't really need that much added on to it. It would probably just be better AI, more intuitive interface, better (though probably still pre-rendered 2D) graphics, more balanced late game equipment and miscellaneous technical issues like the fixed item and unit limits.
Little Nemo

Though I wouldn't make it a platformer like capcom did. I'd turn it into more of an adventure puzzle game

For you ignorant people thinking I'm talking about that crap Finding Nemo... Learn some freaken history

Tomb Raider II.

Imagine bringing Venice, the Tibet temple, the sunken ship underwater, etc... back to life with much more beautiful graphics.

This requires a big team of artists of course...

The Sims - Online
Also, Conflict: Middle East. It was hard as holy hell, but was great - political simulators :)
I'd love to remake Recoil, made by Zipper Interactive, when they were barely even a company. Great game for its time.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Fire Emblem. Hands down.

No, wait. Maybe Advance Wars (more generally, something in the Nintendo Wars family).
