I'm a little unsure what you mean by this. Do you actually mean the game is 80% complete, as in it's playable, most/all of the artwork is complete, and all that's left is polishing and bugfixing and compliance? Or do you mean that the game design is 80% complete?

I recognize your question and your writing style. You're the fellow who emailed me yesterday.
I'm glad you've discovered this forum. I asked you before to tell what your business goal is. In other words, what are you going to accomplish with your game? Let's fast-forward a couple years. Your game has now been developed, let's say. It's an awesome game.

Now what?

What are you going to do now that your game has been developed? What is your occupation, your business, now that your game has been developed?

Are you now a game developer executive? Are you now a game designer working for a major game publisher? Are you relaxing on a Caribbean beach, enjoying your newfound wealth? Or what?

Because it's unclear exactly what you're envisioning, what you're trying to do, we can't point you to the answers to the questions you're asking.

BTW, this isn't exactly a Game Design question. "What's the process of making a game" is more of a Business question (but the way you're asking it, it's almost more of a Breaking In question, but neither of those forums is really right either).

Based on this post your game is not 80% complete. Your game is not even 8% complete. "Copyrighting" a game is maybe .5% of the process of developing it.

Firstly, you need to learn to communicate correctly. I'm not being facetious here. If you attempt to communicate with anyone in the industry to "take it 2 da next step" like that, your communication will be ignored. Write in proper English, using capitals and punctuation. People will take you a lot more seriously.

Next, you need to learn to program. I'd recommend using a language like Python or C#. There are hundreds of tutorials on the web, including plenty on this site. Once you're comfy with your language, make a Tetris clone. This will teach you the basics of using a language to make games (simple graphics, input loops, collision, etc.).

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that anyone will make your game for you.

if you think programming is like sex, you probably haven't done much of either.-------------- - capn_midnight
ok thanks for the feedback.. When i say that the game is almost complete, i mean the idea is done. I dont have a demo or any type of sort. What im trying to find out is what"s my best route with this. I've been finding out that its going to be impossible to develop this on my own. Is there a way for a develop, publishing, or any company or anyone in particular that could help me. Its a 1 of a kind game that i know will hit the market very hard. Im confident in this and i need to find a way to present this somehow..... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.... thanks,

We see this about once a month, and absolutely none of them have gone on to even create the game.

What is the idea? I mean it's not as though anyone is going to help you without knowing the market dominating idea, and it's not as though any of us individually could implement the game any easier than you individually.

ok well honestly if i could get into game design for a company, that will be great. but im thinking more realisitc so basically if i could process the development of the game and see the income would be good. im willing to get into the gaming industry, if i could get a opportunity...

ok i understand that its most likely because they dont have the right funding and team of people to get involved. Also, it would take about 100 posts for all the information i have for this game. The game is done idea wise. storyline, concept, point of view, etc.. bump

No; it's (usually) because they don't have any idea about the technical implications of their ideas. They don't know how impossible or difficult the idea is to implement. Or how the idea just isn't any fun. Or how the idea depends on some ridiculously thin balance that isn't attainable with real world playtesting. Or how the idea is only fun for very few. Or simply how economically unsound the idea is.

There's been a few billion man years spent thinking of game ideas. Odds are that someone's thought of your idea already. There's plenty of money floating around for groundbreaking ideas. Since it's probably not been made yet, there's probably a good reason for it.
