Hardware Review Sites
How many programmers does it take to screw in a light bulb? Zero, that's a hardware problem. You can be a fairly technical programmer and quickly feel like some clueless newbie when you start talking to a tweaker. If you wanted to have some clue what they're talking about where would you even start? That's the purpose of this post.
Below are links to a fair number of hardware review sites. They are primarily focused on reviewing hardware components, but they also offer discussions of things like processor architecture. Their focus is the enthusist rather than consumer market. So mostly if you're looking to build or expand a system rather than just buy and use one. Even if you're just going to buy a computer off the shelf and use it without modification they are useful for understanding your options.
