is it possible to configure win 7 with win 2000 skin(like in xp)?
Sort of, but it's pretty ugly. Why would you want to?
i would like because glitter and shiny (etc...) interfaces distract me , what do you mean by sort of ?

It's called the "basic" theme (example). I say "sort of" because obviously it doesn't look exactly like Windows 2000.

Yes, go to the control panel and select change theme (under Apperance and Personalization) then select windows classic.

It's certainly possible in Vista, but as you can see looks pretty ugly for the newer windows and dialogs. You also lose the hardware acceleration advantages of Aero if you switch to Basic or Standard/Classic modes. After the hideous window decoration style in Luna, I can see why you may wish to stick in the past, but I find Aero is a significant improvement.

Here's another question: why is it that Windows 7 hasn't at all been sensationlized like Windows Vista was? I feel as though that Windows 7 has barely gotten any attention unlike Windows Vista, which, even if it was blasted, got lots of attention in the public. Less complaints with it? Or has Microsoft not publicly advertised it? Or is this all just me?
W7 has been getting a LOT of TV advertising in the UK for a few months now under the "Windows 7 was my idea" campaign.

exactly my point :) to showcase the absurdity of the suggestion that win7 is selling extremely well by including OEM sales
On that basis Mac OSX sales suck too. A sale is a license that gets paid for. Nothing else. If the software company meets their $$$ and market-share targets, it's a success.

thanks for the info! i might have some day to upgrade my win XP SP2. :)

first try it before you bash it. try the os for a month the way it's ment to be, read up anything you think "wtf" to understand why it's there. and then, start considering messing with it. i bet, you won't. most people love win7 the way it is deployed after having adapted to the changes.

oh, and aero and such are not glitter'n'shiny, they are improvements for your os performance, responsiveness, and power consumtion. and it fixes all the drawing problems pre-aero desktops had (remember when something crashed and you could drag it around and paint on the desktop and similar things? not possible anymore).

edit: talking about this behaviour:

crash painting

perhaps they do also, though I wouldnt be too surprised if the OS sales numbers between the two werent that different, due to the far lower price that mac OS costs to purchase.

I'ld actually like to see MS adopt a similar model
Every year release a new OS version but at a much reduced price
