Character reference material
Hi, I just started modeling in Maya, but I am having a hard time finding good reference material. What I'm looking for is characters in front and side perspective(at least), and in a T-pose. Eventually I will get around to making my own reference material, but as it is now I want to get some hands on experience for modeling and animation.
So where do people get their reference material? Any help will be really appreciated.
If you want anime-style characters, try these:
Catsuka-Gengal This site is French but the images are well organized and you don't really need to read anything.
Anime Model Sheets In English but pretty much no organization.
My deviant gallery contains 3 I made.
Also mine, but older.
Posemaniacs has a more realistic style

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.
Thanks for the reply!
I was thinking more like realistic characters, though, and I got some okay material through free samples at random sites. I'm practicing some organic modeling at the moment

I use Flickr and Deviant Art a lot (and of course Google) for reference. Another thing to try is image torrents - they won't contain Vitruvian Man poses but they're good for details and ideas. A lot of the time front/side images don't match up anyway and you have to make your own judgements.
Also be aware that if a model is turning their head slightly (as in photos where they always will be), and you follow the form, when you go to mirror your character they'll look weird.
