Fraps: Not So The Bestis
Is there a freeware something that is good for the developer end.... I am having problems with Fraps! It's not the issue of it slowing down my app as much as it is that it is reading the buffer which is in BGRA and not interpreting it... Not to mention the complete loss of the wheel+ function.... I don't really want to render out a billion targas >.<
To Fraps I give a lower case :p

As far as I'm aware, there's nothing free that compares to Fraps.
In particular, even if you just output thousands of tgas for later assembly into a video file, you're not going to get sound synced with the video - Fraps does that automatically for you.
As for your specific problems, the mouse wheel works for me when I'm recording video. I haven't tried a BGRA buffer, but I don't see why it shouldn't work (
Do you have a registered version of Fraps? Perhaps you can contact their support?).

Nein........... :( I'm sure if I can code the stupid engine I can output a measly little video sample, yus, mb??? o.o
In the meantime I shall continue to refuse to deinterop D2D/D3D and instead give Fraps another lower case :p
You say there is no free, is there a licensed package of higher quality availlable?

i've tried a lot of freeware screen capturing software; fraps outperformed them all.
