Hi, A fantasy game with photorealistic textures, effects and environment. Bad idea or not? Can someone let me know their opinions. The photorealistic appearance doesn''t mean it looks like our real life cities, etc. but it looks real yet is in a fantasy world. Similar to how fantasy setting movies are always made. Is this a bad idea or do you think it could work? I appreciate any opinions, Thanks
I think its a cool idea. If done correctly.

Thanks for your opinion

People are constantly saying that photorealism only belongs in simlulations, sports games, etc. and not in a fantasy game. But I care to differ cause there is no real looking games out there showing a fantasy setting. So what if its fantasy? The appearance of the area, the plot, characters, effects, etc. all still belong in a fantasy world, yet they look real. Won''t this photorealistic appearance help to convince the player that they are part of this fantasy world and let them emerge into the game better? Why should the realistic graphics quality take away from a fantasy game when everything else such as the environment, characters, plot, etc. have a fantasy feel to them?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Can someone oppose me so I can see the points against my way of thinking?

Thanks all
