XNA/DirectX MVP?

No conflict of interest there...
Yeah, because my MVP renewal really depends on whether or not I like Project Natal...

I noticed the lag too, with that much latency it's going to have a hard time with action games.

how does natal actually perform?

4 major errors within a few seconds look at 0:03 into the film, the character onscreen grabs his balls :)

Quote: And they didn't blatantly lie that I can see in their presentation, perhaps you can point them out.
what? is this a serious question or irony (hard to tell on the internet)

Quote: Instead of bashing Milo- what are some things you want to see using Natal?
for the majority of standard games its absolutely useless as its worse than a normal controller, what it would be great at though are party games (group of ppl together) or fitness stuff.
ok its gamegenres are limited but within this limited range theres high demand, that hasnt been explorer fully, look at wii fit, 15million copies sold + still regularly topping the charts
I wonder if you can connect the motion sensor to a PC and use it to do motion capture for your own games cheaply. :)

Doubtful. Even if it was usable on the PC (which I'll bet it's not), in order to even be able to use it you'll probably have to be a registered developer.

It's probable and even more probable if it connects to the 360 through an USB port.

being able to do stuff like browse web, look through clothes / movies or even navigating your whole operating system with actual, accurate hand motions would be absolutely amazing. Cue in Minority Report esque tech.

I'd be more impressed if I couldn't do that already with a mouse (which requires much smaller gestures). I couldn't believe the first display of natal was him waving his arm to move through menus, as though that would ever be preferable to just nudging your thumb quarter of an inch.

I wasn't overly impressed by natal. The little xbox persona seemed to seizure every few seconds, and that painting game managed to disguise any limitations in accuracy the device had (accuracy, interestingly, was something sony really pushed with their toy).

voice recognition never seems to work well in games. possibly it has a future in them, but I think they can break the enchantment of a game rather than drawing the player into it more.
Okay, so I know this thread is almost two weeks old, but this is pretty significant. Apparently, Johnny Chung Lee is working on Natal.

now thats an idea, an accurate golf simulator, that would improve your game (you read it here first)

youll need
a golfclub with sensors in it (I assume youll want it correctly weighted, thus could be dangerous to ppl/objects in the vicinity, but since this product is aimed at the ppl with 3 lounges in their house this shouldnt be to much of an issue )
a sensored ball (pingpongball attached to a piece of string, I dont know how that would stand up to the knocks though)

sell it for >$1000 a pop,
yes steep price, but the guys that are into golf happily spend thousands
