Arr I hate this country! The politicians in my country want to fight against child pornography. That is a good thing!™ BUT not how they want to do it. They want to block access to internet sites. That should be acomplished in that way: The BKA (I think it is comparable with the FBI or something like that) has a list of internet sites that contain this kind of abuse. Well so far so good, nothing against that they want to block access to these sites. BUT this list cannot be controlled by anyone only the BKA has this lists and maintains it (I thought that we live in a democrazy democracy here, at least it was told to us so...). If you access a site that is on this blocklist you will be redirected to a site where a STOP marker is. But the problem is if you access a site that is on this list they will bring you to a court! Just because you clicked on a link... (Think about tinyurl.com twitter users?) Well with a iframe someone who doesn't want to go such a site will also be accused and he doesn't know why. But everybody think that he is pedophiliac! Edit2: I don't mean sites about child abuse here. I mean sites that are on this list, which could be anything... And now everybody want to block sites that they don't like. Members of the book printing lobby want to block sites like rapidshare.com and rapidshare.de just because there are pirated books. (Not everything that is on rapidshare is illegal...) Now our minister of justice, she was some time ago against it because of possible censorship, wants to block google! And now guess what? Because of the book search. (Bad bad piracy!) To clarify: I hate the bastards that **** child and take pictures and movies of them. But just because some of them use the internet for illegal things doesn't mean to block everything and anything that "could" be used for a crime. Now they want to forbid paintball and laserdrom too. I don't know if you know, but in march this year there was an boy who ran amok in his school and shot himself (Yeah he played FPS and that stuff blablabla every FPS-Gamer is a possible murder and the like). Sorry for my bad english here, I think there are many errors here but I'm really angry about this government! This year are elections and I know who doesn't get my vote! Edit: They WANT to to something like that it is not yet decided [Edited by - megamoscha on May 8, 2009 7:27:42 AM]
Lol welcome to Turkey,oh wait you are in Germany but looks like you are going in the same direction as we are [lol]

A similar system has been proposed in Australia.

Their main reason is to "stop child pornography", but they will also block sites with "hateful" content, suicide advice, "bad" political ideas, etc...

Some of the ISPs that are opposed to the plan even went along with a trial of the system just so they could demonstrate that it doesn't work (paedophiles can still share their illegal material even when the system is in place!), but the government just accuses anyone who speaks against it of being a paedophile...
Oh I don't think they go the same route as Turkey. Maybe they want to establish a new form of Stasi...

Edit:
Also the minister who brought up this idea said that anybody who can work around this block is a paedophile.

From what I've read they want to block it on the DNS level. Enybody that is "smart" enough to change his IP can enter another DNS Server...

They have blocked a site called wikileaks.org or so. Bacause they listed which sites got banned in australia and other countries. This site was intented to show which sites weren't abusing childs but to show that this is censorship and nothing more.

Yeah, thats the easy part. :)
Yea, I feel your pain, I hate Germany too... O wait, you're only allowed to say that about your own country:)

(kidding btw, I actually love Germany)

Don't worry to much about it. It's campaigning time and those two laws will get overruled by the federal court in a few months anyway...
Maybe I was to harsh. I don't hate this country, but its government (I think for them it makes no difference).

But the people here don't mind anything. In france, greek and other countries there are riots when the government does something terribly wrong and here nothing.

Some years ago they started to "reform" the social system and it got very worse. The people accepted it. With this kind of social system that is in germany it would be better to abolish the social system at whole, because it doesn't exist anymore.

Another thing I never understood was this:

First of all we're governed by two parties (the two biggest) CDU/CSU and the SPD.

When there was ellections SPD said: "There will be no sales tax increase with us."
The CDU said: "We will increase the sales tax by only two percent!"

Now guess what they formed together the government and increased the sales tax by 3(!) percent. WTF?!?

Edit:
@Black Knight
Yeah I know but the federal court is the last bastion of sanity here in germany. The federal president could also deny such a law but I don't think that he has enough "Schmackes" (^^, english people read: balls) to do it.
A friend from Germany was telling me that they're also trying to ban Paintball for being "Violent". Now, I can see some aspects of Mil-Sim styles coming across as that, for the most part I would have to say soccer is far more violent and more prone to injury. (Haven't seen anyone in Paintball run up to another player and kick them in the nuts after all.)

I wonder if people that propose some of these laws even attempt to do the things they're trying to ban. (With in reason! We don't need politicians going out and attempting to murder someone to confirm that murder is still illegal.)

@Talroth

Some years ago they wanted to ban counterstrike because another person ran amok. The "experts" that showed the politicians the game had blood patches installed, those blood patches were every player bleeds when shot and the like, and they thought that the main goal was to hurt people. Noting about teamgaming or so.

Counterstrike is cut in germany. No blood and when you're shot down youre sitting and shake your head... very brutal...
