Dead Lines
There are always dead lines in game development, that''s the main reason for bugs. But why are there Dead-Lines? What would happen if the game will be released a few weeks after...?
That''s a stupid question I guess, but I just want to make sure what the reasons are...
Thanks

It''s kind of like when your company says "Hey, we need to show a demo of (whatever your company doesn''t have yet)to a prospective client" so you write a quick demo..a few days later they say "Sales told the client that we have already developed this technology and can have their application finished in no time"..you say "All we have is this demo you had me hack together in 2 days!"..they say "We already told the client it was fully developed and they expect it yesterday"..
At least that''s where most of MY deadline pain comes from..

Also, most of the time it seems that the publisher lays down the law to the developer, and some games seem to come out at seasonal times when people start buying things, ie the beginning of the school year, or the holiday season . . . thus we have deadlines. Unfortunately to many people out there it all seems to boil down to the money involved and not the best gameplay that could be achieved . . .
Just look at a Dilbert comic strip if you want to see more reasons :-)
Humanity's first sin was faith; the first virtue was doubt
Abolish The Holiday Season
Then, as long as it didn''t crop up elsewhere, there''d be no problem. The Holiday Season is like fishing season. Sure you could fish at other times, but you catch a lot less fish.
