Can you recommend any good free library that can load gif,tif (compressed),tga and jpg images? Or at least one of those formats!

I don't know about the others but for JPEG I can recommend the Intel JPEG Library. Its faster the the JPEG group's official decoder (it takes advantage of MMX and stuff). You can download it for free from http://developer.intel.com/vtune/perflibst/ijl
