New to this forum so dont kill me please. I'm thinking about getting into game music, but not sure how to go about doing it. Could you guys have a listen to some of the music on my site and maybe let me know what you think of it? Marcus Wilkinson Music Please let me know your thoughts

Well, simply put - I love games and I love making music.
Secondly, the majority of my skills seem geared towards game music and audio. I love creating emotion and atmosphere, and I truly believe that existing game music is limited in its linear nature. The same way games moved from 2D point and click to full 3D immersion, the same should (but doesn't seem to) be happening to music.
Vast majority of music in games is linear tracks. This would never do for graphics so why do we allow it? Because music is currently only used as support - but looking at other mediums (e.g. horror movies) you see the music driving a much more emotive atmosphere.
Check out my Interactive Music System i have developed a few years back that I would really like to develop further.

"Vast majority of music in games is linear tracks. This would never do for graphics so why do we allow it?"

What do you mean for graphics? Do you mean linear graphics would never do? What do you mean by linear? Do you mean procedural/generative?

Thankfully, many games do not employ procedural/generative graphics--it keeps my games looking pretty.

If you're looking to get in I am currently looking for some music for my game (It's in beta. aka 90% finished, about a month away from release at tops.) which is a Shmup, or space shooter. I can't pay, but I can put your name in the credits.

If you're interessted PM me and I'll send you a link (I don't want to post it and seem spammy).
