Hy. I have some 3d models in format : 1)3D Studio ( .3ds )33 KB 2)3D Studio Textures ( .3ds )2.7 MB what is the difference from 1 to 2? I would use them for a 3d game, but is possible decrease the detail for have a decent frame rate? There is some tools for 3ds and other programs? Thanks.
Most likely, the first file is a model with no texture while the second is a model with the texture files mapped to the model.

As far as the level of detail; for the model itself, you will probably have to edit it manually to get the poly count down. Also, you can open up the textures in photoshop or what have you and save the files out with more compression or less color information, or both, to take down their file sizes.
