Modelling/Texture Issue

Hey guys, Its been a while now since my last post and be glad :D if I didn't stop there might of been another 43-74 new threads XD. Well gettin' back to the point, I work with C++/Win32/DirectX and went into modelling(3D not fashion :P) and I use 2 programs switching when necessary but I've come across a problem... In AC3D(1 of the 2 3D Modelling programs) when I export my project in a .x format and use the mesh it doesn't show any textures and in the other program(Autodesk 3ds Max 9)... it doesn't have a .x format to save/export to so I use a plugin for it called Panda DirectX Exporter which when exported through results with a mesh showing the texture. Now you might wonder what went wrong because I've accomplished my task; the mesh has the texture showing... well I'll tell you! Although it does show the texture what happens is that the plugin makes you keep the texture with the mesh instead of embedding the texture in the file... and I don't want that. Do you guys have any ideas/solutions? Thanks a bunch :).
If you want to keep them together then just zip them up together or something.

Well that isn't the problem :) the problem is that I don't wanna have access files which could easily be reduced.

By the way would you happen to be a girl? Not that I have anything wrong with it :) its just that its nice to see a female round our manly nerd house :D
