Export ms3d from 3ds Max 9
I've been looking into ways to get animation into games and milkshape seemed to be the quickest way. On their website they have open source tools to look at models and their animation that I have put into my own code. Things work great, but now that I'm working with other people that do models, things don't work correctly anymore.. When I view their models in my 3ds max, the animation looks good, but when I export to ms3d (via the plugin from milkshape's website), and open it in their tool, the animation is way off and doesn't look right at all. None of the bones move like they're supposed to or anything. Everything looks right in the exported ms3d, but once I animate it, it's not right.
Is this is known problem? Anyone know what's wrong just by that general problem?

I think I found another file type to use: FBX. I haven't looked much into it, it was mostly referred to me by a co-worker, but I wanted to get everyone else's opinion before I waste any unnecessary time on it. From what I was told is that it is a pretty standard 3d file format and even the XNA uses it. I really don't care what "cool" stuff it has, for the time being, I just need a file format that has the geometry, materials, bones, and animation frames. If the FBX is a good file format then i will check it out.
Thanks
