interesting technique, but not very useful... the pen tool is still the best way to draw outlines!

I think you miss the point here. The advantage is that using the "transform Selection to Path" allow one to create a really Flash looking style of outline, without the need for leet drawing skill.
It transforms what would otherwise look like hesitant and bland looking lines into an elegant and stylish outline.

Again, this is more for people who dont have a lot of time or skills and want to get a nice result despite those drawbacks. Maybe for you it''s easy, but I assure you a lot of people have a hard time doing it without a graphic tablet and tons of patience (maybe you want to volunteer for an example ?)

I would have to disagree, I could never do any drawing on the computer before I found this, and I was having alot of trouble coming up with graphics for my game, but now I just scribble it out use these couple steps and it looks really cool..

the best part about this is the more you mess up the more interesting it looks... you can have a weird bend in your line and then when you applied these styles it looks as if it was carfully planned to be like that..

I''d like to thank the original poster, I now have a great way to create my own graphics

well. i guess it''s ok for beginners...people who have experience with computer graphics would not need to resurt to something like this

I assure you, it''s useful for lazy people like me too even though I would qualify myself as experienced (well, on this forum at least, on Sijun I''d call myself a little grasshoper I feel very proud if no one contest my claim...)

Turt99 As always I am pleased to see my efforts be of some help to someone, thank you !

This is certainly a nice technique for people not so artistically gifted as me. I can actually manage to make something decent with it, and I can''t draw to save my life!
Thanks for the tut, it''ll probably be useful for me at some point.

Nice technique. But I don''t own photoshop (just PaintShopPro v5). Any idea on the algorithm used, or other ways to produce a similar effect?
