Game companies are now looking at Houdini to help accelerate the development of content for high-end games using its unique procedural architecture. In additional to our professional versions, Houdini also has a free learning edition called Houdini Apprentice and a $99 "Starving Artist Edition" called Houdini Apprentice HD which lets people use all of Houdini's high-end features for personal projects. For game developers this version can be used to develop independent game projects in conjunction with the Torque game engine.
