2nd hand Max licences
Hi everybody,
Just a quick question to see if anybody knows where I might be able to pick up a 2nd hand Max licence...or even if it's possible. I'm not interested in the new features so I was hoping to pick up a 2nd hand licence of perhaps version 7,8 or 9. I presume these are available somewhere if companies go into liquidation and their assets are sold off etc. If anybody has any info it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi Paul,
I believe the licenses can't be transfered. If you want a legitimate copy, your best bet is the student 14-month version which costs about $200, the perpetual is twice that much. Also, you have to be a registered student of a university or technical college for that price. Try www.journeyed.com and search for "3ds max" to see. I know that doesn't sound too appealing if you're looking for something cheaper. I bought the $600 3ds max educational version, only to have version 9 come out 4 months later for half that much!!! Anyway, Blender is free, and I here it's pretty nice.
