Apart from SimBionics, what other toolkits or middleware are there to help in game AI development?
Kynapse and AI Implant are out there, but are geared more towards commercial products (read: are expensive).

OpenSteer is free.
AI.Implant is now free provided you put their Logo on your product(s).

We've been using AI.Implant for a title I'm working on and it's very very good in my opinion.

I even did a short presentation on AI.Implant for those guys at this year's GDC

You can check it out here: AI.Implant

Note, I do not work for or represent AI.Implant, I am merely stating how great a product it is (and we evaluated a number of middleware solutions before selecting them).

Where do you see that Ai.Implant is free. I only see an option to buy, and if you are an X360 or a PS3 developer you can request a license... Can you provide a link for the free download?
Here is the link: http://www.ai-implant.com/ai_blog/aiimplant_blog/new_license_unveiled_to_positive_response.htm

I don't know if you know, but that license is only available to developers who are writing AAA titles for the Xbox 360 or PS3. So it really isn't a feasible option for a lot of people here.
Ah, apologies. I had heard they had an indie license. I guess not =(

And you had gotten my hopes up :)
