Someone wanna draw and ink my comic concept?
I had a comic idea today that I thought was pretty decent. Problem is, I can't draw at all. So I got to thinking, "I bet somebody in VA wants to draw a comic but has no good ideas." So I'm wondering if anyone is interested. The comic's about a Magic: The Gathering tournament, and it's a joke on Dead Rising. I'm thinking a fairly classic 3 panel or 4 panel structure, but we can mess with it. Anyone interested?

Why don't you just post up the idea and then let anyone who wants to run with it do so?
It is true that many artists don't have very many good ideas, but they tend to think they do [wink]

Quote:Fair enough. I haven't assigned these guys names, and I'm also not too attached to the details. The title is "Geek Rising". Enjoy yourselves.

Frame 1: Basic idea is that this guy ("A") goes to his first MTG tournament, doesn't know what to expect. The way I see this going is that he's with a friend "B" who does this fairly often:
A: "What are these tournaments like?"
B: "They can be a bit of a shock to first timers. You'll see."
Frame 2: When he walks in the door, everyone's wandering around with vacant looks in their eyes, holding magic cards out in front of them and going "Traaaade, TRAAAAAADE".
A: "What...happened here?"
Frame 3: "B" has already gone vacant and is wandering off:
B: "Traaaaaaade"
Frame 4: No dialog. "A" picks up a metal folding chair that was sitting next to the doorway, ready to swing. Haven't decided on what emotion he's showing.

I could maybe give it a shot... never tried to comic book draw, but if you find nobody else I can try to do it.
penciljack.com is a good comic artists forum, if you write a really (really) good script someone may be more interested.
Interestingly I'm brainstorming through ideas for a comic strip myself - I've been meaning to start one as a vehicle to practice my drawing. Unfortunately I'm not really that into Magic the Gathering or Dead Rising, but if it's a single strip I wouldn't mind giving it a go as a trial run.
Hi
Nice to see some MTG ppl in this forum. If the comic strip is good you might wanna post it at the forums in www.magicthegathering.com. I'm sure they'd love to see it as well.
