Hello all, this is my second post of today. Anyway, I'm almost out of high school. I need to know where I'm going to go afterwards. I know for a fact, I want to go to college to be a Game programmer/Designer; I've been programming since I was about 11. I want to work with C++ and OpenGL. Keep me away from DirectX. I want to program in the cross-platforming fields. I see games as a work of art, and want for people to play it as well and not on one platform. Any extensions that can go with C++/OpenGL are fine with me. I live in the United States, and need help choosing where I want to go for college. If you all have any places where you went, or by my information, have an idea for me to go, post here. Also, if you need more information, tell me so. Thank you all for your time.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that nobody here can tell you where to go, nor should you place a heavy weight on people from "some online forum" and their opinions. I can tell you the steps to take, though.

1) Look at your grades and SAT scores (or whatever they have you take nowadays). Keep those in mind. Some schools won't accept low grades or low scores.

2) Go to your High School Guidance Counselor office, if there is one, and ask for various college ideas that fit your grades and needs. Four year university? In-state? Out of state? Technical school, instead? There's advantages and disadvantages to both. Look through those, check the curriculum. Please open your mind. Saying "Keep me away from Direct X" is not the way to learn. Read about the college campuses. Many have webpages that tell you about the classes, campuses, and faculty. Choose some that you like.

3) Talk to your parents/guardians about what is in the affordable range, and what THEY think. They're really who you should be asking, not us. If you really like a certain school, look into scholarships, grants and loans.
