I need external storage.
This is my general selection:

As it stands, I'm currently running out of space on my internal and external drives. I want to get the best external storage $200 can buy.
I'm currently looking at this external hard drive:

It's no frills 500 GB of storage for $150. I've used 3 drives from them and I've never had a problem with seagate. Is this a good one to get?
Or should I go the regular hard drive + enclosure route?

I've had seriously bad experiences with Seagate AND Maxtor drives. The only drive manufacturer I haven't had problems with is Western Digital.
Therefore, I recommend this (of which I have two):

I recommend this seagate external.
I just got one recently and the things I like about it is:
#1 5 year warranty unlike all the other manufacters
#2 most quiet external drive I've ever seen
#3 has cool amber lights and sleek design
#4 doesn't take up much room
#5 has usb and esata connectors
As you can see I can't recommend this drive enough but if you can find a 750GB drive internal or external I'd get that instead.

WD gives you 5 year warranty, if you buy the "enterprise" series of drives.
I would get a generic enclosure that can do USB 2.0 and E-SATA, and then screw in whatever WD drive looks good that day. E-SATA is the biz-omb, as they said in the '90s.

Yeah, the enterprise raptor drives are the only drives I buy that aren't Seagate since Seagate doesn't offer any 10,000rpm sata drives.
