Hello all. I am a 30 year old addicted gamer who plays rogue spear on msn zone site . I play tournaments and I am tired of all the cheating. All the cheats seem to be the same so I know its possible to make it harder for people to cheat . I want to hire someone to create a patch for the game that the host and all other players joining his server would have to install to play in our room. Anyone interested please let m eknow. David S.

You could check out www.punkbuster.com , it is an anti-cheating tool for Half-Life which runs in parallel with the actual executable. Currently this only works with HL, but you might get some inspiration or persuade those guys to make a PunkBuster version for Rogue Spear. Or you do it yourself...

I''m hoping that your new to the "whole" programming thing. Because it should be obvious that it would be next to impossible to do such a thing without have the original code of the game and know how it works ( which is by having the original code).

Also when you say hire, do you mean pay, because I seriously doubt you would pay anything for some game to have fixed. Why don''t you email red storm and ask them, since they DO have the original source to the game and they can look into it.

Well. I have contacted Redstorm and they dont respond.. They dont seem interested in supporting and old game since they have come out with new maps allready and versions. I will pay to have this done let me know what you feel is reasonable... im not rich . David icq 113031729

Actually you may have more luck looking for someone who does reverse engineering then just someone who can program. A good reverser could probably patch the program in no time.
