Title Sequences
We've all seen the creative title sequences when starting a game that display the company's logo, and name, in a sort of animation. How are these created? Specifically, the ones using 2D animation only. I'm guessing 3D logos would of course be done in a modeling program. I want to be able to create a simple 2D title sequence for my game. I would like to be able to export to AVI movie format, with low filesize and decent compression, and run at about 30FPS. How can I create a professional title sequence? I would like to do this myself, and not use another service.
Well, Flash exports as avi, so does Aura (Newtek.) Do you know how to animate?

Can you give a little more detail on how you want it to look?
Flash might well be your best bet, but it might be more appropriate to hand animate, to use Photoshop to create the individual frames (and then batch process them into AVI), or even to use a 3D modeller to create 2D images... It just depends on what you want to do.

gsgraham.comSo, no, zebras are not causing hurricanes.
Generally, you use something like Adobe After Effects to create opening title sequences.

Btw, I realise I must have come off as blunt.
In my business class one thing I learn is: You can't do everything and do it well.
If you are very very good at programming, game design, business or whatever it is you do, is it worth you time to learn an entire new discipline that you don't want to have a career in in the first place? Because Animation is an entire career path by itself and getting at the pro level is usually years of practice.
If you have interest in animation go for it. If you want to do it for fun, go ahead. But if you do this to save time or money, you might want to reconsider. Say you make 20$ an hour at your day job, and you would have to pay 200$ for a semi-decent intro sequence, you have to ask yourself if you could have had something like that in less than 10 hours?

Thanks for the responses.
Yes, I know how to animate. I should of said that :) I've used Flash, and exported to AVI, but I get very poor looking animation. The edges aren't clean, and the animation jittery in some parts. I'm looking for alternatives, or a better way to do this. Basically, I want to have a logo fade in, do a rotation, and exit or fade off the screen, with music in the background.

I have had the same problem with Flash but I tried playing around with the codecs and got one that gave me excellent results. You have to play around a bit.
