I Could use some help with making sprites at different angles. I started spriting this summer and have progressed, yet I am having a hard time with angles/poses. I have sprites that face forward, I need to make them sideways and jumping and such. It would help me tremendously if you could explain how. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AeroltheGriffen/Sprites/football_playing_matoran_set.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AeroltheGriffen/Sprites/football_playing_matoran_set2.png Those are the links to my latest sprites. Thanks for your help.
Forums grouped under "The Technical Side", such as For Beginners, are aimed at programmers. I think you want the Visual Arts forum.

Moved.
When drawing sprites from the side, characters limbs would overlap, so if he's looking towards the right, you'd first have his left arm, then his torso over that, and then his right arm/shoulder, same with the legs, left leg under the right leg, etc. It helps if you can think of what your character would look like in 3D, or to get an idea of his general shape, and then translate that into your angled views of him.

My best advice would be to look at other peoples sprites and see how they do it, you may find the tutorial So You Want To Be A Pixel Artist useful, and it has a few side shots of your style of sprites, along with alot of other useful tidbits of information.
Thanks! This Helps tremendously! Cool I will check that out. It seems to be a good page from a glance at the link. I will bookmark it.

Thanks Again.
