So if Mac's supposed to be the hot stuff for music development, how come I can't find a good sequencer without a gigantic price tag attached? I'm looking for something which is either free or fairly cheap (like less than $50, maybe $100 at a stretch). No trackers. Oh, and I don't like the sequencer in Garage Band, so that's out too.

Logic Express. I might check into that. I use DP 4.6 and like it, but the price might be slightly high.

At $300, Logic Express is still way out of reach.

Macs are great for music production! I have two in my studio! They kinda just sit there, but they've got lots of nifty programs... with things...

uh... that's where I keep all my SFX!

Hmm... I can't think of one music prog on Mac you can use for $50-$100 range. Nothing that's going to be more than a glorified tracker anyway.

Oh, I know! They're much quiter than my PC's! I feel kinda bad cause they each have a Digi002 on them and those don't get used either cept for once in a while or I need to translate a session from ProTools.

Good luck!
I take it you don't like macs eh? :)

You might have to pay more than 100$ for a true sequencer with usuable functions. You can't even get FL for 50$ :p I honestly can't think of any.

I was looking for something about FL class, actually, which is also why I mentioned I'd stretch to $100 or so.

So is there nothing for me out there?

I got traineded real good to work with Macs and whatnot. I do like them, but I'm way too comfortable on PC's. It's just what I learned first and best so I work the fastest on it. I NEED to work fast with what I do. I just had an intern quit on me only to find he hadn't DONE ANYTHING for his team. So I had to create 40 or so detailed SFX in about 6 hours having only played the game for a few minutes.

Anyway, I'm also not familiar enough with the full assortment of budget mac audio programs. I'll do a search though and get back to you!

mackie tracktion 2 is the cheapest i can think of and that should be around $150, i can't think of any options from $50-100 (not for pc either though). except of course the totally free ones such as ardour.org (audio only iirc)...
