Yea, I am 15 and going into my second year of high school. I was looking into game development classes and my mom reminded me about DeVry's classes. The reason I am posting here is because she works at DeVry as a programmer (it's in my blood) and I w2anted to get an unbiased assesment of DeVry. If it's somewhere from 5-10 on a scale out of 10 I'll probobly end up going there because it is so close to my home (free room and board) and, since my mom works there, I'll be able to go for free. So if you could, tell me about your experiences with this college course and what business' think of it. It would be a waste of time to do it and then not get hired because no one holds them in a high standard (just a scenario. I have no idea their prestige).
Hello Junior, you wrote:

Free is a BIG plus in the school's favor. But you need to do a decision grid. See http://www.sloperama.com/advice/lesson25.htm for how to make a decision grid and choose a college. Pick some other schools too, weigh them against each other.

When they see your spectacular portfolio, they just check to see if you have a degree. Nobody cares where you learned how to make your spectacular portfolio. Stop worrying about how a particular school's name appears on your resume - "prestige" is a non-issue. Read these articles too:

You have lots of time to decide if you want to DESIGN games or PROGRAM them (it wasn't clear from your post which), and to choose the best school that suits YOUR needs (without worrying about "appearances").
