Okay I guess I'll have to wait till the book arrives. But I'm still gonna attend the workshop.
Funny, did'nt I post something before the MOD. showed up?

We're not using VB. We're using C++. Hence the title of the workshop. I believe what you meant was VS. As in, Visual Studio, which contains Visual C++, Visual Basic, C#, and Visual J#.
But you're welcome to use whatever compiler or IDE you have, so long as it meets the ISO standard.
Cheers!

I would use VS, but my computer refuses to install Sevice Pack 2 for who knows what reason >_<
I hope they post the first thread soon, unfortunatly this is going to take a while to get into, seeing how the first few chapters don't really talk about the actual programing.
Greetings everyone, I'm quite excited about this, as I've been looking to get into programming for a long while now.
The only problem I foresee is that I've bought the book a few days ago, and I've managed to go through chapters (days) 1-4 within about 2 hours with no problems at all.
It was all basic stuff, with some high school basic maths and common sense added to it.. Basic programming stuff I take it :) So I'm wondering if a whole month for these four chapters would be a bit too much..
The problem I see with myself, is that in a month, I'll probably won't have any problems with chapters 5-6-7 (basic functions, understanding object-oriented programmation, etc..) and I'll probably be way further than I should be.
I'm wondering if I could still use the tutors at this point?
Perhaps put days 1-2 together, 3-4 together, then when things starts getting slightly more complicated, allow a whole week per chapters?
Thanks for the future help anyway :)
