3D Sound Effect tester?

Hi, I just had a question regarding sound effect engineering. Basically, I'm doing sound effects and music for a independent game (www.fleur-de-rouge.com), but I've never done sound effects before. Since the game is in early stages of development, I don't have any way of testing out sound effects, but I have a lot of learning to do so I want to start practicing now. I'm looking for some sort of 3D environment that will let you plug in your own sounds to see how they fit various animations, but I haven't been able to find such a program. Does anyone know of any tools like that I could practice on? Thanks, -Chronocide
If you have cubase and a video file of the animation, you can (I'm almost positive) mix in surround and sync the sound with the animation.

Yeah, I can do that with Sonar I think

I guess that would probably be a place to start at least... thanks for the idea :)
