Debugging Monitor

Hey. I''ve recently started my first full-scale full-screen game. I think a debugging screen would help alot, but I have no idea how to set up and use one. So how would I go abouyt setting up a debugging screen? I don''t know a lot about computer hardware, because my dad doesn''t let me mess around with that stuff. -Forcas
