Normalmaps from high resolution models

are there programs to create a per pixel normalmap from a high resolution model to a low resolution model ? i tryed it with nvidias melody but i was not able to get a good resultat... no idee why ... not iam looking for other posibilities here the normalmap generated with melody: the lowres model ... alone.obj and the highres model ... alone_detail.obj i had tested with thanks for help
I have no problems with Melody. But I use the plugins for Lightwave to make my maps, or ZBrush.

afaik melody is using the uv-set of ur lowresmodel to generate the map, so u have to use unique mapping of the texels to ur model, either there will be an overdraw-mess.
yes i assumed this, so i tried to model a good uv-mapping ...
think there are no overlappings

i have now spended a lot of time changing properties of melody, have also readed many tutorials and manuals but iam not able to generate a good normal map ...
