Direct X SDK
Hi, I want to start learning how to program with DX, and I have books on it, but they are based on Dx7. Should I learn Dx7 before I go to 8, or should I just learn 8, because I know that they got rid of Direct Draw in 8, and that is a major component in the books I am reading. Thanx in advance.

I say go for DX8...even though it sucks! >
I just installed the new SDK today and it sounded great about DirectDraw and Direct3D being put together to DirectGraphics (or whatever), sure. So I fire up the docs and see a folder in the contents saying "Understanding ..." and then "Introduction to ...", great I thought so I click them to expand their trees and all I see is "Direct3D Object", "Direct3D Device", "Vertex Buffers", "Direct3D Architecture", "Using meshes"...ARGH! Seems they incorporated DDraw in Direct3D rather than making them work together in something new, DirectGraphics (?). Frankly, I think this sucks...but don''t pay to much attention to this, I''m upset and have lost most of my judgement .
This is gonna be a tough day..*sigh*

From the sky filled with the fumes of a billionarie''s cigar to the deepest abyss drenched in nuclear waste. A rich kid was a happy kid, oh..dirty, filthy times. Let this be a reminder."
