I saw in an Algebra tutorial, that they moved the number between equation even though they had bracket around them. So my question is can somebody explain me the basics of solving equestion or point me to a website. Thanks.
errrr basics?

as long as u do the same stuff in both sides of the = yer ok

lets find X.... here''s an simpel eq 5x = 15. (5x does really mean 5 * x).

we want a singel X so lets divide by 5 on both sides of the =.
(5 * x)/5 = 15/5 -> x = 15/5 which gives us x = 3 nice!

another basic eq.

x + 5 = 15
lets find X.

we want the X to be alone so lets move the +5 term.
x = 15 - 5 (note 5 is negative). when u move a term across the = u have to change it. i,e: +24 -> -24, -57 -> +57. ( hehe not the best of explanations.) well... lets move on.
15 - 5 = 10 so x = 10. c00l!

i guess that would be the basics.... was that what u wanted???????????

sincerly Maffe.

You can add the same value to both sides of an equation, multiply both sides by the same value or raise both sides to the same power and the equality will still hold true. Further given an expression such as (a+b)(c+d) it can be expanded by a(c+d)+b(c+d) or ac+ad+bc+bd. That holds for even more complex expressions such as (a+b+c)(d+e+f) = a(d+e+f)+b(d+e+f)+c(d+e+f) = ad+ae+af+bd+be+bf+cd+ce+cf.

the real question is: are you studying game development as the same time as basic algebra?

isn''t that, like, bad?

Actually I think that would be kind of good since you learn things better when you have a practical use for it.

algebra is easy!
