hi,
Visual Studio .NET is in Beta 1 stage so VC++ 7 should be out sometime after mid next year.

Yes! There are kangaroos in Australia but I haven't seen them...yet
Maybe this time you''ll be able to right click a project folder and create a new .h\.cpp file that is based on a template that is project specific.... one day .... one day...

Actually .NET looks amazing. So many people just hear, "Oh a new MS product, it''s going to suxor!"
.NET is positioning itself as a great new platform to program for. Visual Studio .NET (Beta 1) is fantastic so far. Its great to have such a unified IDE, not to mention finally getting proper exception handling in Visual Basic (no more On Error Goto Tag). In VB 7 you can now use try/catch/finally style exception handling (just like Win32 SEH).

Yeah, .NET can kiss your ass, up until it comes out and you can no longer renew service contracts for VC6.0 and all the developers move on and you slowly sink into a cesspool of ancient technology?
I hate to say this but...

Your words do not move me. And .NET is not an upgrade for VC++ 6 by the way in case you were misinformed.
