a few questions
I just got a few questions about composing music:
1) is a keyboard necisery? if yes what kind would you suggest and what is a normal price for one?
2) what/which program would be good to use and what are the use of such programs?
3) I know the few basics of composing music, but are there thing i should keep in my mind before starting?
4) so i have the keyboard and programs, where do i get a nice tutorial ( what books or urls would you suggest) and how do you start then?
Thanks for the help

Hi, firstly, what kind of music do you want to compose? I assume, game music.
1) A keyboard is handy, but not needed.
2) Depends on what you want to make. Soundcards have MIDI, which can sound adequate.
However, if you want to make professional music you will need a synthesizer, sampler, studio, etctera.
3) You'll need at least some Talent. You'll have experience in how to blend the game together with your music. Music, sound fx and the game should be one. If you are trying to be overly creative or unique, the connection can be lost. Listen for example to the music of Rayman 2. This was excellent music, and it was produced superbly.
4) I quess, search Google for those questions. There is very much info on this subject.
