Hello all. I am a programmer in C++. Though I have never ventured into netowork programming. I've picked up running security tests for people, but I wanna write my own programs in linux. Can someoen send me a site on writing linux port scanners, ect
Belive it or not...this is C++....
A good place to start would be the canonical Beej's Guide to Network Programming.

Won't teach you any coding, but Firewalls and Internet Security: Repelling the Wily Hacker by William R. Cheswick, Steven M. Bellovin, and Aviel D. Rubin is a good overview for securing a UNIX-like machine.
