Greetings all, I am a highly skilled audio content developer/composer, my music and effects f-in'' ROCK ... BUT... Recently I have been asked to put a small team together for the purposes of making an arcade-style (2D) children''s game based on bible stories. (pictue Moses in a level of super marioland, etc.) The people footing the bill for this project are not game industry, and plan to sell this game on-line and through a tight network of churches, synagogues, private schnools, etc... The game will be for 4-7 year olds, and doesn''t need to be a "thinker" game - more of an arcade classic clone. I have an awesome lead artist for this, but not enough budget for a pro-industry programmer. We can both program a little... Is there any "authoring software" for making simple, side-scroller type games, old-school arcade clones, etc - I''m looking for software that I can make very basic games, importing nice looking graphics, but without having to write script. Does this type of thing / engine even exist? - if not, what is the easiest software for game creation to learn for making basic games? Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions. Thanks guys "The Emperor wants to conquer outerspace, Yoda wants to explore innerspace ... this is the fudamental difference between the good and dark sides of the force..."

I''ve never tried this, but it might be what you''re looking for.

3D GameStudio

part of a quote states:

It was never easier to create 1st person games, 3rd person games, adventures, role playing games, side scrollers, flight simulators, spaceship simulators, tank simulators, sports games, 3D pinball, racing games... and games never seen before!

Good luck!
