FPS question

Hey Guys, I need help with FPS NPC weapons. The problem is this: I want to have a seperate mesh for character and weapon. How do I get the weapon to attatch to the NPC''s hand in the game, and stay there when he moves around? My work-around for this is to biuld the mesh with the gun attatched, this is not good because it limits what the NPCs can do... BTW: I am not a programer, just an artist who needs to find out for a programer!! Also E-mail me at home: lamont976@home.com

You will need to define an anchor within both meshes. The anchor in the weapon attaches to the anchor in the character. Then you can transform the gun accordingly. (I find that this works best with a skeletal animation system. Your anchor would just be another joint.)
