Nothing quite like experiencing chown -R virtual:virtual /. instead of chown -R virtual:virtual ./ Looks like I'm going to be busy for a while. [crying]
Heh, you changed the ownership of every file in the filesystem to virtual:virtual then, ouch :p

Oh my..

I guess a chown -R root root / will fix most things and then doing such for each dir in /home.
The install is pretty much hosed, there are certain scripts that you wouldn't want to have root permissions etc that I don't want to waste the time with. And it wasn't every file, after about 5 seconds I started wondering what was taking so long.
Ouch.

lol, I did that once. I can't remember the exact consequences but I think I abandoned that installation soon after.
