Sweet. Definitely better value to get Unlimited. Only £75 extra.

I prefer 3DS Max though. I got the trials of both. Maya I was totally WTF, but with 3DS Max I could just use it.

ok, i got a reply from them.

this offer is available to ANYONE who is a full time student, u dont have to be part of their own courses. all you have to do is contact em and send em payment aswell as a fax or copy of ur student ID.

Not bad.

now, if there was only something like this for 3DS MAX.
Abbid,

Journeyed sells an educational version of 3D Studio Max for $650. A 1-year license is $180.
Use your brain or lose your mind.
hmm, quite cheap compared to normal prices but still a bit too expensive for me, and i dont really have to worry about buying the full version just yet because im just starting out with modelling/animation.

maybe in the future some time.

oh, i have got Gmax and am playing around with it, what i want to know is, is Gmax completly different to 3DS Max. i want to get a few books teaching 3DS MAX but i only have gmax so will it be similar to learn ofr completley different.
When you buy one of these Student versions, are there restrictions on what you can do with the Artwork you create with it?

The student versions are full versions. The only restriction is that you can not sell your work.

On GMax, there are some export restrictions, but other than that... it's 3dsMax 4. To sell anything with Gmax, you have to purchase a liscence for a few hundred dollars, but you'd be better off with just spending the extra $4,000 on 3dsMax.

if i buy 3DS then do i have to get a license to use it every year or do i just buy it and i can use it forever?

If you spend the $3,500-$4,000 to buy it, you can use it forever.

Instead of us doing all of the research for you.... Read the user-liscence agreement.

A bargain at twice the price... Actually, I don't know, because I can't afford it.
