suggestions for dual boot setup?
i just upgraded my old pc last night adding a little ram, another hd, faster cd rom. so what i have now is a pII 350mhz, 192mb pc100 ram, (2x)10gb hd. right now i still have xp pro and slackware set up for dual boot on the original hd. first partition is xp pro, then linux swap, then a single partition for slackware. the slack partition is the active boot partition and uses lilo from there to boot either os(i've had problems in the past putting lilo on the mbr). there's a good chance that i'll try out a new linux distribution soon, but i was looking for suggestions on partitioning both drives and what specific load/setup i should use. xp on hd0 and linux on hd1 with grub in the hd0 mbr? lots of options, just looking for suggestions based on experience.
This space for rent.
I recently bought redhat and set it up for dual boot with WXPP. What I did was installed Linux after WXP and used linux's setup to specify that I wanted to have the option to boot with WXP also. Was easy enough and it worked perfectly. Would still be using it but my main WXP drive crashed about 5 weeks after I did all this (I know it was nothing to do with the dual boot setup so dont worry) and now I'm scared to mess with the other drive with linux on it. So Theres my story... not to boring... not to exciting [grin]
Just my experience with teh whole dual booting thing with no extra third-party,

Well.. why dont you just format the new disk, into 1 or 2.. as many partitions as you want.. and have each partition for each OS..
