I just went to the URL you have provided and I kept on getting an error message while trying to download the Author's Kit. Just thought I'd let you know. I'll try it again later I guess.

Well years ago I wrote a text adventure in Qbasic (as you do!) but got fed up of all the repititous code so I basically created an engine to create them with, I think the final thing had rooms and objects, and I added event based stuff that had triggers and effects and all sorts... you could configure the trigger to be a time or date so you could create a complete virtual world! I kind of forgot about that but I really wanted to add creature stuff and a weapons and damage system to give t more of a mud feel but never got round to it, not including the AI of the creatures and such....

Anyway if any wants the source they are welcome to it! the basic ideas can easily be ported to C without much hassle.
