Im pretty new at modeling seriously, but i cant think of anything to model that would challenge me enough. Everything is either too easy or too hard. Id like some ideas that could potentially increase my skills. Here's about what i can do: BenderFinal Fantasy ThemeGizmoDuck(ive since textured it, added detail and hands, and smoothed parts of it)

what kind of direction do you plan on taking this?

just try making stuff that would go into whatever application you're going to make

No, just practice. Any theme, idea, concept, whatever. Im open. Im not great at characters yet, but ill try them, too.

One thing it looks like you could practice is detail. It's attention to detail that tends to separate really great modellers from okay ones. Even Bender, as simple as he is, could look more like the cartoon.

So just do what you're currently doing, but do it to near perfection (the near is very important here, you don't want to waste time on that last little detail that few will notice). Practice getting things to look as close as possible, but challenge yourself by trying to use as few polys as possible, or using as much of the texture map as you can.
Think of your favorite character and try building him from the ground up in some interesting composition. Right now I'm trying to create a scene of Kaneda (from Akira) admist some rubble as a personal challenge.

Hi

I would say choose something that interests you, like perhaps a weapon (I like to play First-Person Shooters). Then find nice reference photos of the weapon, A side view of it for reference when modeling and many photos showing the weapon from different angles. When you start to model it *do not get scared* Just model 1 little piece then the next. If you think of all the complex little details then you may likely get scared and run away. The trick is not to run away when it gets difficult. Set a challenge and fight your way through it. Once you have it finished after 1-2 Weeks you will feel like you haev just slayed a dragon.

Check out this nice weapon modeling tutorial:

i would suggest a humanoid character [man/woman] ...
something that has real life proportions ... i think your defo up to it.. and it is something u have not fully conquered yet!

i found working on human characters got me thinking about the importance of proportions..

..ps. do it in one mesh! ...it's a skill worth learnin
