audio develpoment
I am a high school student who is researching the career i wish to go into which is game development. I would like to know how you make the sounds you hear on games like, for example, the theme song "eyes on me" from final fantacy VIII. So would someone please enlighten me? Thank you very much.
(p.s. I really like that song too.)

Well, I don''t know that specific one but generally in larger game projects profesional composers/sound-creators are in charge of providing sound effects and music...
smaller projects (i e, amateur work or one man/woman teams) tend to use music that already exists and goes more or less well w/ the game...
Now the professionals do their work like any composer/sound-creator (e. g. for films) taking into regard the individual aspects of the game (that''s what they''re being paid for ).
Since most developement teams even the ones fitted out w/ an x million $ etat won''t hire an orchestra so game music is made w/ help of synthesizers and computers (a lot of other music''s made that way, too).
Don''t know if this does help you but that''s basically it. I Supose someone who makes a living of this will be able to tell you some details.
