I'll try messing around with it when I get back to college and if I have any luck will post my progress. It would be really nice to have a cross platform movie player.

I made my own format since i'm aiming for cross-platform compatibility and AVI is hard to use on linux (or so i found out).

I hope there will appear a OpenVL (video library) - with mpeg and avi support for both windows and linux. Ah.. dreams [smile]

That would be quite nice, of course it would also have to support divx and quicktime :)
