Sry for the lack of posts...kinda busy with another project...
Anyway, entries due on friday; will accept late entries over the week end. Since I havent heard from NeHe yet, you can email me (thereisnocowlevel@hotmail.com) with your entries and I'll host them on a contest page. If necessary, I can also setup an ftp site where you can upload your demos. Very excited to see what you guys have done :)
Once we have our entries, I think we should have a week of judging and then award the prizes. Thx for all the help/support guys :)
Cheers,

Well as it is a winamp plugin, I'd say that the "Best Sound" is up to the music you're playing :p
Things I think we should look for when judging entries are:
1) Music Response: As this is a winamp visualisation plugin, I think its important that it responds to the music in some way. Credit should be given for clever/effective use of the music data.
2) Polish: Does the plugin look like its been well thought out and tested? Has obvious effort been put into the demo? Even the most basic of "newbie" entries will have my vote over the latest pixel shader effects etc. if it is well put together.
3) Innovation: Does the plugin do anything new/innovative?
4) Graphics: How much of a wow factor does the graphics give the viewer? Linked with the "Polish" catagory above - this does not mean giving credit for the use of fantastic new technology but what the end result looks like.
5) Overall: What is your gut feeling on how good the plugin is? Very dependent on personal taste.
On the status of my plugin, I'm finished. [smile] I'm just cleaning up the code and writing the readme file. Unfortunately I've had no luck with activating full screen yet though. I'll probably mail it to llvllatrix tomorrow.
Nuts! The above post was from me. It should really warn you if you're posting as anonymous.
I'm still working on getting my plugin done.
I have not had time to even look at the config dialog or fullscreen mode yet. I don't even know if I'm using the lates base code.
If entries are accepted even during the weekend I should have some time to do som polishing, unless I have to work when I'm at work...
So after lurking around the NeHe site and forum for about 2-3 years, saying that I will enter the comps, atleast I will have something this time.
Endre

Excellent. Look forward to seeing your entry. [smile]
I've lost a lot of time fighting with win32 API and a lot of stupid error...
I hope to finish it for friday.

Well, I'm basically finished with my demo, so here it is if you want to check it out:
http://www.geocities.com/fluxcapacitorsc/TheEternalPool.zip
If the link doesn't work you can also get it here, in the 'Eternal Pool' directory:
http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/entripon@ameritech.net
You will need an OpenGL 1.5 (GLSL) compatible card to run the demo. I apologize to those with older video cards, but I'm currently learning GLSL, so I couldn't resist. ;) Also be aware that it takes some time to load, so be patient. (This is mostly due to my using an enormous repetitious floor texture where a small tiled texture would suffice, but I seem to have lost my floor model so I can't change it.)
Please let me know what you think, and if you have any last minute suggestions before I send the demo off to ||v||atrix.
