currently it's the 7th (next friday).

As for the prize, you can't just get rid of a prize when more than half way through a contest.

Perhaps it's just my fault, but I really can't get this to work.
The first time I try to start the plugin nothing happens, the second time it says "Failed to register window" (and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL winamp).
The problem is that this happens even when I copy the dll included in the source code (the one in the Bin folder), so it's not related to the way I compile the project.
What am I doing wrong?

Do the other projects work? (||v||atrix', mine and tgraupmanns)
Hello all.

Just home from my Christmas vacation, and got nothing done the last week. Are you all going for Christmas themes? I hope not...

As for the reinstall problems some of you have had, what Winamp version are you using?

I hope I can get some work done this last week... or are we extending the deadline?

Endre
Up to you guys...it might be best to wait until nehe can post something before we decide anything...I dont feel right about not rewarding those who did participate...

How about this:
- we award one of the prizes for this contest
- we spend a few days fixing bugs with the basecode
- we then hold another winamp mini contest with an open theme

We should talk to nehe before we decide anything. We definitely need his help if we are to get more participants.

Cheers,
- llvllatrix
Ok now it works.
I din't know I had to configure it first.
Anyway, I think it shouldn't be like that; one should be able to start the plugin even without configuring it, but simply using some "default values".
This is a bug that should be fixed in the basecode.

About llvllatrix's suggestion to have two separate contests:
I think one is enough; let's just wait for NeHe to post something on the main page.
In case that doesn't work, it wouldn't make any sense to have a second contest (since we are already lacking partecipants to the first one)

Same results with the makefile i provided?

Yes.

I'm using Winamp 5.08.

You can fix the problem by deleting the winamp directory and reinstalling.

Occassionally I get failed to register application window.
*News tagenigma.com is my new domain.
I'm just about done with my entry... except I'm afraid I didn't follow directions very well. :O

I didn't see until yesterday that our demos were supposed to be holiday-themed; I thought we could just do anything, so mine is not very "festive", to say the least. :D

I'll finish it up and post it anyway, though, within a few days.

lol. It was the same with me. I'd done a large chunk of a non-holiday themed plugin when I suddenly realised that there was a theme, so I had to have a good long think to come up with another idea especially, as living in a the southern hemisphere (the very southern tip of Africa) its the height of summer, so the whole "white Christmas" is quite foreign[smile]

@esolem
I'm using winamp 5.03 (granted, a bit old but I haven't got around to getting the most recent edition)

@Pipo DeClown
All the posted plugins work fine for me.

As for the awarding of a prize, I'm also not in favour of suddenly moving it (I'm referring just to the original flash key prize, not necessarily the other prizes that have been proposed but never really officially offered) to another contest. Its not fair to those who have worked hard on an entry to be denied a chance at winning what's promised. Maybe if there are only a few entries it will encourage others to enter contests in the future as the chances of winning are higher [smile] Also, it could seriously damage the credibility of future contests if the promised prize isn't given out (I know that I would be very unlikely to enter a competition on a site which has a history of not awarding its competition prizes).
