Does this sound like fun?
Well Cappella Corporation is coming along at the moment but I running low on ideas for research topics in the game so I thought I'd get some input from the people in the forum. Background: Cappella Corporation is a strategy game set in the near future where the player assumes the role of an executive the bio weapons division of CC. During your time there you gain the opportunity to develop a whole new kind of bio weapon known as BioMutants.(I have some concept art which I have yet to scan.) Game play: The game is played entirely through the Remote Operation Management and Control Interface (ROMACI). Game play is divided into several areas. 1) Facility Design – The player can design the layout of their facilities, the function of each room, and the placement and types of security measures present. 2) Facility Management – The player can control purchase of equipment and assignment of equipment and supplies, the hiring, firing, acquisition, reward and punishment of staff. 3) Research Projects – The player can choose which research projects to develop. 4) Tactical Missions – The player can create mission for their Commandos to undertake the play can choose the type of mission, target, and set of a series of primary and secondary objectives to accomplish as part of the mission. The AI controls the commando’s actions during the actual missions, but you will be able to observe an issue orders. There are also times when your own facilities can come under attack in which case you can also control security measures. You can also choose what gear the commandos are equipped with, although the Team leader will automatically assign gear based on the information available about the target and the mission details. 5) Information Services Missions - In ISM you choose a mission and target and dispatch an agent to perform the mission and are then notified the results at a later date. ISM can be used for a variety of tasks from gaining intel and security overrides on target before launching a tactical mission, to assassination of VIPs to subversion of rival organizations. 6) World map – There will be some game play involving the world map although I’m not sure what to include for this. There will be territories, strategic resources and facilities that will all be a factor in the world map use. 7) Bio Mutants – I am having difficulty in deciding what uses there should be for theses. At present they can be used for facility security, tactical missions, sold to other organization for security use and sold to factions to use as weapons of war which is their primary purpose in terms of income and influence. 8) The corporate ladder – The player moves up the corporate ladder through a combination of good performance, ruthless business tactics, and elimination of the competition. Glad you like it.
There is a tech tree which includes all the theoretical Biological projects. There are also improvements to existing projects and applications which you a have % chance to acquire after completing the necessary theoretical project. There is also another set of topics which can’t be researched and must instead be acquired in other ways.

This screams "Evil Genius"/DK to me, but that's GOOD!
Makes me wanna be able to build my own secure compound that hires workers, stops agents, develops and tests prototypes, has a budget, and extends underground facilities...
I can see mutants getting loose, chemical spills and accidents, lawsuits filed against the company, "Resident Evil" disasters, the list could go on!
You could take this design pretty far, if you wanted.
