Hello, I am relatively new to the Visual Arts side of game dev and I am trying to become better at character modeling. Here is one of my first attempts at character modeling: Image Hosted by
ImageShack.us I would really appreciate any comments or criticism, and particularly any advice on texturing. I guess I should mention that I use Blender. Thanks, Trebor
looks great, youve grasped blender pretty well by the looks of it!

for critique, she needs more definition around all her muscles and bones.

are you going to UV texture her? or going to keep with the shaders?
if your trying to make her look more real, then id add more imperfections.. like slight colour changes in her skin. and her skirt shouldnt be shiny id imagine, maybe find a nice clothe texture for it too? if your going for toony tho, then your texturing is pretty right.

good stuff, keep on blenderin!

Thanks for the advice a few questions:

How should I add the definition to the muscles? Should I use a texture or modify the mesh?

I don't know anything about UV texturing so I am not sure what it can do, what would you recommend?

Thanks!
It looks good, however, the propotions seem a little off to me. For example, her left arm is too long in my opinion. In general, I think its look good, but awkward and I think that is due to the proportions of the limbs.
Yes, I see so when I regarded her face. I suggest some anatomy research (you might found lots of tutorials around the net, even for free like www.fineart.sk).

Anyway it is quite good in itself but there are ways you can improve it.
