how to update poser 4.2 to poser 5?

i think its poser 4.2 my mate has. he wants to update it to poser 5. i hear that poser 5 is just an update to poser 4.??. does anyone know if this is true?
I currently only use c# and directX9, in case its relivant and i didnt mention it in the post
